#6 Religion, God and all that (cont.)
Well this post is going to look at human corruption of what religion should be.
What should religion be? Well. I think, religion being silly and pointless, that it requires faith, and faith is believing something you have absolutely no reason to believe, its kinda... you believe it because someone tells you nice stories and it involves some all-powerful, all-caring being. So you believe in that being... yea.
Where do they get the stories? - Answer - A Holy Book. Who wrote the book down? - Answer - A human (probably evil, corrupt and looking for power). Why? - Answer - Because hes evil, corrupt and looking for power.
I think some guys (quite cleverly) thought they might be able to govern peoples lives by writing books which - in the books - they said they were written by a God. They were jokers. They made laws like 'Thou shalt honour thy mother and thy father' i mean... wtf?. Anyway, they're total jokers. Why on earth should people believe a guy who says ' Don't eat pigs, but you can eat any other meat.' It doesn't even have a reason like vegitarianism.

Religion is man made. God is a personal thing. I really don't think any religion knows for sure what the answers are. We have something inside of us that leads us. I don't know what that is, but I like to think that it is God. Life seems pretty empty without a bigger purpose.
Once again, fearing the Christians. But I agree, religion is a bad idea. Maybe we should just be nice to each other (like most religions say) and forget about God. If we were nice, our lives would be better. You don't need heaven.
P.S. Watch Dogma, even though it's a comedy it has some good points.
yeah... scott and chris you kind of getting at what i mean... but if i wrote more no-one would read it.
